Persistent Storage

Persistent storage is a feature available in many modern browsers which prevents the browser from deleting data for a website when the system is running low on disk space. Because Sketchpad doesn’t save any user files to the Sketchpad server, sometimes users can lose files accidentally when their computer storage nears it’s capacity. This most often occurs on lower powered Chromebook devices which have smaller disk drives in the 16-32 GB range.

Thankfully, Chrome has developed persistent storage to prevent this from happening and Sketch.IO has implemented this feature in Sketchpad 2020. Persistent storage is automatically enabled whenever you open the files pane and you can check the status of persistent storage in the Sketchpad settings.
